Great supplement to an intro to modern physics class

I also had Dr. Harris as my professor for modern physics, and he is simply the greatest at explaining non-intuitive ideas when it comes to modern physics. Similarly, this textbook is straightforward and concise, making this an ideal supplement to the class. However, it might be hard to fully understand concepts if you're only relying on the book.

Clean, clear, concise

I have been studying from this book for the past few weeks. Dr. Harris presents the material in a clean and clear way that demonstrates all the nuances and subtleties of relativity and quantum mechanics. Not only that, but the material is concise. Mathematical details are thrown into the Appendices for those who are interested in the mathematics, but for everyone else, the main results and concepts are presented. The problems, as I have seen, are also reasonable in length and difficulty.

This book is definitely worth your time and effort if you truly wish to gain a strong introduction to relativity and quantum mechanics.

Good Book

I'm taking Quantum 2 this semester, and this is the second book we were required to buy. The first was Cohen-Tannoudji (sp) Quantum Mechanics Volume 2, which was terrible.

Then, for the second half of this course we got this book. I wish I had looked at this book while we were using the Cohen book, because it is just so much easier to digest. It actually explains things, and gives examples in the text. A solid modern physics textbook for sure.

About the Author
Jamaican-born Barbara Makeda Blake-Hannah has been a Rastafarian since the 1970s and is amember of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As well as JOSEPH – A RASTA REGGAE FABLE, a novel inspired by the life of Bob Marley, Hannah wrote 'Rastafari – The New Creation' , the first text on Rastafari to be written by a practicing member of the faith. Journalist, broadcaster and producer/director of 8 films, she began by working with her father's news magazine, then in 1964 she moved to England and became Britain's 1st Black TV journalist on Thames TV's daily TODAY programme. Returning to Jamaica in 1972, she has worked in a range of media and also in the Office of the Prime Minister under Michael Manley and Edward Seaga. She served as an Independent Senator in Parliament from 1984-1987 and has lectured on Jamaican culture at Universities around the world.

Very little info on Bordeaux

Judging by the title, I made the mistake of assuming that there would be more than 8 pages on Bordeaux out of 320. I was very disappointed. However, if you're looking for a little taste of many towns and sights in the region, without a focus on any one area, you may find this book helpful.

Impossibly Small Print - Makes the Book Almost Useless

There may be a good amount of info in this book... unfortunately, I may never know. The publishers tried to cram in too much info into the allotted pages, resulting in a book with a lot of info in dinky print which can't be read. Bummer. So, now I will see about downloading a guide and give up on a tour book for this area. Suggestion to publisher.... either have less info for the area covered, or keep same level of info for a smaller area so that you can ramp up the font a bit. Doesn't need to be a lot... a point size or two will do the trick.

An indispensable tool - The missing piece to the Law of Attraction

The vast majority of people go through their entire lives unaware of the energy parasites that are attached to them. These etheric beings feed off of low frequency vibrational energy and once joined with a host, will constantly try to provoke that person into a negative head space. If you find yourself within inches of a goal, only to self sabotage at the last moment, chances are you've got energy parasites. If you find yourself in a pattern of pessimistic thinking you can't seem to snap out of, chances are you've got energy parasites. Got road rage? You've got parasites. Drink much? Smoke much? Eat too much? You too have parasites living vicariously through you. Using the techniques in this book, you will physically feel these little buggers as they release from your body and snap at your hands as you sweep them away and eviscerate them. You will be amazed at how quiet and peaceful your mind will get and how positive and confident you will get once these interferences are removed. Meditative states you were never able to get to - you will access with ease. Your self sabotaging self talk will be silenced. Positive autosuggestion, and self hypnosis aren't nearly as effective, and one only needs to read the suicide warnings that come with prescription anti-depressants to see the limitations of clinical psychiatry. None of those tools address the issue of negative etheric entities, but this book shows you how to send them to oblivion. I have spent about the last 10 years looking into the realm of energy psychology and I am constant awe of the discoveries of GM Choa!

The real gem of this book is using prana to remove non-physical entities like though-forms and elementals. These tiny little psychic parasites can be a huge aggravating factor in something like schizophrenia or even drug addiction.

A skilled pranic healer can remove even a severe drug addiction to heroine in 1-3 treatments! Amazing considering the length of traditional treatments.

Pranic healing has been tested in HUNDREDS of studies, some of them even double blind. Some of the effects were at a distance! Some were even on cultured cells in a petri dish, but time and time again pranic healing proved effective.

Lacks the depth that I'd anticipated on reading it. While focus is clearly on technique and methodology, and this is understandable,
any book exploring the integration of the effects of subtle energies (Prana, Chi, Ki, etc.) and psychology, I think, should included the
added "depth knowledge" that explains how and why the techniques and methodologies work. As a result, I think "Pranic Psychotherapy" establishes a learning situation wherein those seeking to become practitioners of the therapy may become trained in technique and metho- dology as layed out in the manual, while at the same time, be lacking in a deeper understanding of Mind, Subtle Energy, and how each are impacted by each.
